MARÍA TERESA LOZANO

General Secretary for the Conference of Principals of Spanish Universities (Crue) since 2005.

Born in Madrid, Spain and mother of two children.

She has a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Madrid (UPM). She finished a specialist course at the University of Reading (UK) with a project titled "Desarrollo de la tolerancia a la desecación en el trigo, Triticum aestivum L.c.v. Timmo " and a study of research "Milk Marketing Board ".

Since 1998 she has been working at the Crue, coordinating the network of the Office for the Transfer of Research Results (RedOTRI), she has been the chief responsible forInternational Relations, as well as for monitoring issues in educational policy.

Furthermore, in 2001 she created and has since been in charge of the Department of Human Resources Administration.

Since 2005 she has been covering the position of General Secretary of the Crue, developing a new corporate image and managing a new business model of organization.

In addition, she is a member of the Permanent Committee of the Crue and other ten Sectoral Commissions that address different issues regarding University activities such as internalisation, RDI, student and academic issues, etc.

She is a representative of the Crue within various organisations on a national and international level: The Advisory Committee on Accessibility of the ONCE Foundation, the Jury of the FEDEPE Awards, the Group of General Secretaries of the European University Association (EUA), the Ibero-American University Council, etc.
