Luis Cayo Pérez Bueno
President of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI).
He has studied law, specialising in moral and legal philosophy. Master's degree in business management from the Escuela Libre de Derecho y Economía. Since 1995, he has been working in the social sector of disability. He is Editor of cermi.es semanal, the disability newspaper, director of the book collections cermi.es, Abyectos, Empero, Telefónica Accesible, Convención ONU, Diversidad e Inclusión, all from CERMI, and A Destiempo, from Editorial Kinnamon and Co-Director of the Disability Law Section of the Grandes Tratados Collection of the Thomson Reuters Aranzadi publishing house. He is also Chairman of the Editorial Board of the legal-social analysis journal Anales de Derecho y Discapacidad- Revista científica de Derecho de la Discapacidad. He is Vice-President of the National Council on Disability and is a member of the Royal Board on Disability and of the State Council of Social Action NGOs.
He is also President of the Law and Disability Foundation, of the Bequal Foundation, Vice-President of the Third Sector Platform and Trustee of the ONCE Foundation.
He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Servimedia News Agency. Writer, translator and poet, he has published several works, studies and translations both on literary creation and on the social reality and the disability movement.
He has also received the Disability Award, an official award granted in 2022 by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, for outstanding personality, and OTAEX 2022, for the promotion of the values of universal accessibility, granted by the Regional Government of Extremadura.
