Matías Rodríguez Inciarte

Born in Oviedo in 1948. 

Chairman of Santander Universities and Vice-Chairman of Universia. 

Graduate in Economics and Commercial Technician and State Economist. Studied business studies at the MIT.  

He has held various positions in the Spanish Administration and between 1981 and 1982 was Minister of the Presidency. 

He has been a Director of Banco Santander since 1988 and Vice-Chairman from 1994 to 2017. From April 2008 to March 2018, he was Chairman of the Princess of Asturias Foundation. 

Currently, he is also Chairman of Sanitas, S.A. de Seguros, Chairman of UCI, Director of Financiera El Corte Inglés, Director of FIPONSA and Director of BUPA. 

He is also a member of the Advisory Board of UNESCO's "The Future of Education" project.
