FEDERICO MUÑIZ ALONSO
Graduate in Physical Sciences from the University of Barcelona (1992).
He has been a member of the Corps of Secondary Education Teachers, specialising in Mathematics, since 1993.
Between 1995 and 2008 he held management positions in the secondary schools where he works, in the provinces of Barcelona and Guadalajara.
Since September 2008 he has held his current position as Deputy Director General of Statistics and Information of the SEPE (State Public Employment Service).
In this sub-directorate is located the Observatory of Occupations of the SEPE, which carries out the analysis of the situation and trends of the labour market, and prepares the Annual Report on Training Needs.
The S.D.G. for Statistics and Information coordinates the information systems of the Public Employment Services of all the Autonomous Regions. It is responsible for compiling statistics on registered unemployment, contracts and unemployment benefits.
It has been Spain's representative in the Indicators Group of the European Commission's Employment Committee. He currently participates in the Expert Group on Labour Market Statistics of the same Committee, and is a member of the Steering Group of the Benchlearning Project, for benchmarking and mutual learning between Public Employment Services of the European Union.
