GERARDO ECHEITA SARRIONANDIA
PhD in Philosophy and Educational Sciences/Psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid (1985), he is considered a specialist in inclusive education policies, with more than a hundred published articles, book chapters and books.
He has published more than one hundred works, including articles, book chapters and books. These publications yield an H Index of 35 as of 2018, in Google Scholar. In addition, he has participated in multiple training and dissemination activities in seminars, a wide and accredited teaching and research experience and in advising schools on this subject. He is Emeritus Professor in the Interfaculty Department of Developmental Psychology and Education at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM).
He has held positions of technical responsibility in the Spanish Ministry of Education (1986-1996), and has worked as a consultant on projects within his specialisation in international organisations such as UNESCO, the OECD, UNICEF, the OEI, or the European Agency for Special Needs and Inclusive Education. He is currently part of the expert committee that advises and supports Catalyst for Inclusive Education ("Inclusion International") and the Latin American Regional Network for Inclusive Education.
He is an external member of the University Institute for Integration in the Community (INICO), University of Salamanca, from whom he received the Career Achievement Award in 2022 and is co-founder and member of the UAM research group called Equity, Diversity and Inclusive Education (EQUIDEI).
As author or co-author of national and international conferences and congresses, particularly in Spain and Latin America.
