CARMEN ALBA PASTOR

PhD in Education and Professor of Didactics and School Organisation in the Faculty of Education - Teacher Training Centre - at the Complutense University of Madrid. 

Her teaching career combines training in didactic aspects of inclusive education and new technologies applied to education. She directed the Microsoft-Complutense Chair of Accessibility to Education and has been a visiting professor at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University and at the School of Education at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (California). 

Her research, publications and training activities focus on the accessibility of education for all students from an inclusive perspective, through curriculum and technological resources. Since her stay at the Center for Applied Special Technologies (CAST) in Wakefield, Massachusetts (USA) she has developed her work on Universal Design for Learning (UDL).

In this line, she has directed the DUALETIC project (Application of Universal Design for Learning and use of accessible digital materials: Implications for literacy teaching and teacher training) and is currently co-directing the DUA-INCLUDIG project, on the application of DUA in the inclusive and digital culture of schools, both funded by the State Programme for R&D&I Oriented to the Challenges of Society. 

She is a member of the University Network for Educational Research and Innovation (REUNI+D) and director of EducaDUA, a space dedicated to research, training and dissemination of Universal Design for Learning in Spanish.
