Professor of Psychology, founder and former director (1996-2023) of the University Institute for Community Integration, and director of the Disability Information Service at the University of Salamanca.  Castilla y León Award for Social Sciences and Humanities.  Numerary Member of the Spanish Academy of Psychology. Doctor Honoris Causa from ISALUD University (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2012) and Anáhuac University (Mexico City, Mexico, 2023).

He has coordinated more than 150 funded research projects or contracts, as well as directing the Consolidated Research Unit UIC 115 of the JCYL. He has published as author/co-author more than 700 scientific articles or book chapters, and more than 100 books/evaluation scales, and presented more than 800 communications or posters at conferences.
