EVA MARÍA SOTOMAYOR

Eva Mª Sotomayor Morales holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Jaén. She is a Fulbright Visting Fellow at the University of California San Diego in 2022. Since 2003 she has been a lecturer at the University of Jaén, currently Professor of Sociology in the Area of Social Work and Social Services, Department of Psychology. From 2018 to 2022 she has held the position of Director of the Data Bank of the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS).  Principal researcher of the IN3 Research Structure (EI_SEJ14_2019) Inclusion, Innovation and Social Research. Member of the Academic Coordination Commission for the University of Jaén of the Doctorate Programme in Integrated and Health Care. 

Director of the University Programme for the inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities UniverDI sponsored by the ONCE Foundation (2017 to date). She has been director of the Official Master's Degree in Management and Entrepreneurship of Social and Health Centres and Services (2017-2018). Member of the Social Trends Research Group of the UNED. She is vice-president of the Carmen Olmedo Feminist Collective and member of the Ethics Committee of APROMPSI (Association for the Mentally Handicapped of Jaén). 

She has been the director of the I, II, III and VI International Congresses on Intellectual Disability held at the University of Jaén in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2016. Member of the International Network on Diversity in Organisations, Communities and Nations. 

She is currently PI of the Research Project: "Effects of work on the emotional well-being of people with intellectual disabilities and in the company" (2022-2024) of the Conecta Call (La Caixa Foundation). 

She has been awarded three research periods or sexenios, as well as 3 published books, 41 participations in collective works and 45 articles in journals. He has supervised 10 doctoral theses.  His current interests focus on the sociology of emotions and the social exclusion of vulnerable groups.
