RAFAEL DE LORENZO GARCÍA

He holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid. He obtained a Doctorate Degree in Law "cum laude" and an extraordinary award from the University of Alcalá de Henares.

He is currently Secretary General of the General Council of ONCE, 2nd Vice-President of CEPES, Secretary General of the Third Sector Platform, University Lecturer, Secretary General of the Law and Disability Foundation, member of the Club of Rome, of the Advisory Board of the Spanish Association of Foundations and of the Justice and Disability Forum of the General Council of the Judiciary, as well as corresponding member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.

He has been tutor professor of Labour Law and Social Security at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia de Madrid (1980-1992), associate professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2002-2005) and full professor in the Department of Social Work at the Faculty of Law of the UNED (2018-2022).

He has held various high-level responsibilities in ONCE and its Foundation (vice-president, general secretary) and in several social organisations related to disability, the Third Sector, foundations, social economy...

He has published more than 25 books and almost a hundred book chapters and articles on disability, social movements, social economy, among others.

He has been awarded several decorations, including the Cross of Honour of the Order of San Raimundo de Peñafort (2015), the Encomienda de Número de la Orden de Isabel La Católica of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (2011), the Gold Cross of the Civil Order of Social Solidarity of the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality (2011), the Justice and Disability Forum Award for personal career (2011), and the Gold Medal of the Red Cross (2009), and special mention of the Queen Letizia National Award for Disability (2023).
